A unique and fun kayaking experience. which offers minimal boat traffic, access to a nearby beach and a very serene paddle up Allatoona Creek which is a shaded, tree lined natural habitat with no houses, docks or boat traffic.
Red Top Mtn State Park with prior arrangements on I-75 exit do North 1.5 miles and exit right on exit 285 turn east 1.5 miles then turn left into the Boat ramp just on the other side of the Bridge. Alternate Launch Site is only available with advance approval. Less than 3.4 mile drive from Lakepoint Sports. If boat ramp parking is full there is additional overflow parking just past the boat lunch entrance on the left.

This experience requires a minimum 2 hour rental plus a $25 per group fuel surcharge. You will have to paddle against the current on the way to the waterfall which may be difficult for small children. Depending on water levels you may have to exit your kayak to get past shallow areas. This launch point also requires PRIOR APPROVAL. Parking is limited additional parking is an 1/8mile up the hill from the park. Oulets Stores are located at this same exit

If you do want to encounter any motorized boat traffic this 25-acre park contains a substantial playground, fishing points, public restrooms, walking paths that wind through the park, including portions that pass along the edge of Lake Acworth , a boating ramp (for electric motor driven boats only), and a boardwalk This launch site like other alternate launch sites requires PRIOR APPROVAL. There is a $10.00 parking fee for non Acworth
residents on weekend days and holidays between Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. You can also walk into the park from a few other areas that are near Cauble Park.

Every 4th of July the City of Acworth hosts a professional quality Fireworks display which are launched from Cauble Park and can be viewed from Lake Allatoona where hundreds of boats gather to watch from the water although the display can be seen for miles away.
Battle of Allatoona
This Memorial is located a short 3 minute drive from Lake Pointe Sports Complex. This Battlefield, Along with it's memorial ground is dedicated to the Union and Confederate forces that fought here on October 5th1864.During the battle, Units representing 5 Union States and 6 Confederate States were present most of the Confederate dead from this battle lie in unmarked graves as do many of the Union fallen now buried at the Marietta National Cemetary.
For the noble dead, an Army mourns, a Nation mourns, for the living, honor and respect will await them wherever they shall be known as faithful soldiers who have for their dearest rights so often gone through the fires of battle and the baptism of blood.
Here loyal men fell defending the United States and FREEDOM October 5th 1864 The price of victory was 86 killed 243 wounded 48 missing. Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment's 7th, 9th,12th, 50th,, 58th and 93rd.
They died so that our Nation might live.The 39th Iowa Volunteer Infantry. Brigadier Gerneral John Corse of Iowa commanded the victorius Feder forces.at Allatoona Pass October 5th1864.

On October 5th 1864 Brave Men from Wisconsin Led by the Star Fort and the neighboring rations depot from repeted Confederate attacks although the Garrisons was heavily outnumbered they tenaciously held the Fort. Their courage saved the Federal Depot at Allatoona and kept open General Sherman's supply line to Atlanta. Their selfless devotion to duty and tto the Union cause allowed Sherman to confirm his plans for the march to the sea and through the Carolina's which help save the Union ensuring that future generations may enjoy the liberties of a FREE AND UNDIVIDED NATION
This one-of-a-kind car dubbed the Lola T70 MKIIIB was a hand built in 1969 by Karl Schuaetz . It's incredible aerodynamic design would sell even today 64 years later.
